The National Kidney Walk took place all over the city of Duluth about this time for the past years, this year because of COVID-19, it's nationwide August 12th.

This year you can walk wherever you want. Most things nowadays have become virtual, and this has too, with its own spin. The National Kidney Foundation took it a step further, instead of having some walks where large gatherings of people will be, they decided to gather all the people, but virtually, not only to create awareness but to show people how many Americans are involved and how many are affected. At 7 pm on August 12th, everyone can join together and do the walk wherever they want to. Press the button down below to join in.

In an email from Kevin Longino CEO & Kidney Transplant Recipient from the National Kidney Foundation, Kidney Walks are big for the organization and more than than 80 cents of every dollar donated goes to research, patient services, professional education, public health education, and community services. According to their website that money still needs to be there, so does the awareness. More than 37 million people in America are living with chronic kidney disease. The money raised helps those people as well as educating the public, patents, and updating the healthcare professionals who care for people with kidney disease.
