Last night Old Dominion headlined a show at Amsoil Arena in Duluth.  Not only were they there but also performing were country music's High Valley and Michael Ray.

First for the night I will say this, all of the bands sounded great.  Whoever was running sound did a great job.  I've been to some shows at Amsoil Arena where it wasn't the best sound, it's never horrible though, but last night was spot on.

High Valley kicked things off with high energy and upbeat songs that got the crowd warmed up for Michael Ray.  Michael is one of those artists who have had a few songs newer country music fans would know, but probably could only name one of, if that.  Once he started though there were several familiar tunes the crowd really got into.  Michael also has a great older style country music voice that's easy to appreciate and listen to.

Old Dominion took the stage and did what I have now seen them do twice.  Provide a spot on well tuned performance.  Last time I caught them live was playing with Miranda Lambert a couple of years back and I thought they put on a good show then.  They took full advantage of the extended "T" shaped stage coming out more into the crowd often and giving their fans a more up close view of things.  While admittedly they are not on the top of my list of artists to see, I still appreciate a great show and they provided that.  I can't really think of any negatives from the evening of music all three bands put on.

All in all, I would say if you're a newer country music fan, catching any of these artists live will probably make for a good concert night.
