While there was no severe weather associated with Thursday's rain system, a visual often associated with severe weather was spotted on a Northern Minnesota lake. Folks at Cut Foot Sioux Resort on Lake Winnibigoshish just west of Grand Rapids posted on their Facebook page a couple photos and brief video of a series of waterspouts on the lake.

The waterspouts appeared around 5 pm Thursday, making for a memorable sight for some folks fishing on the lake. Representatives from the resort told WDIO that there was a total of 3 waterspouts, but they only caught two of them on camera. For perspective, the staff member estimated that the largest waterspout was about 3/4 mile away from where the photo was taken. No reports of damage came from these waterspouts.
