MMA Action Returns To Superior This Spring With 16-Fight Event
Fans of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action will be excited to learn of a big event coming this spring to Superior!
The MMA Beatdowns In Souptown is a 16-fight event that promises to feature top MMA competitors from around the Midwest showcasing their skills. There are also title fights on the card.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 15 at the Superior Curling Club, located at 4700 Tower Avenue in Superior, Wisconsin, right across from the Gondik Law Speedway.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the fights start at 6:00 p.m.
According to event promoters, the show is estimated to run 3-4 hours based on how long each fight goes. They note it is difficult to give an accurate time ending of the event, but it would be safe to assume you'll witness a solid 3-4 hours of awesome live MMA action.
If you're unfamiliar with MMA or have never attended a mixed martial arts event, Evolve MMA gives a great explanation of what you're missing:
MMA is a blend of different martial art styles to create a comprehensive martial art that is governed by its own rules. The early days of mixed martial arts were the first time in modern human history that fighters from different martial arts styles could compete with one another. It gave the world a chance to finally answer the question of “which martial art is the best?”
They add that if you're wondering which martial art is the best, the answer to that question is “none”. It all comes down to how competent a fighter is at their particular style has more to do with their ability to defeat an opponent than the specific style they train in.
