Minnesota’s Left Lane Law Will Penalize Slowpokes In Left Lane

I don't think there's anything more frustrating while driving on the highway than having someone driving slowly down the left lane.  Thankfully, those people will soon be fined.

ValleyNewsLive.com is reporting that the Minnesota state legislature has signed off on a bill could cost left lane drivers more than $100 in fines and fees if they don't move over for faster vehicles.

Slow drivers refusing to vacate the left lane can cause dangerous driving conditions for others on the highway, leading to tailgating, people trying to pass in the right lane and even boiling over into road rage situations.

Minnesota Senator John Jasinski says that a vast majority of people support this bill and after some give and take with Minnesota State Troopers over the wording in the bill, they are on board too.

The bill is now in the hands of Governor Walz and he's expected to sign it into law later this week.

Personally, I couldn't be happier.  It's such a simple concept that you should save the left lane for faster traffic and passing that I've never understood how some people just don't get it.  Perhaps a $100 fine will help them remember.
