Fourth of July is right around the corner and we are in luck here in Minnesota and Wisconsin! Both states placed high on the list of 2020's most patriotic states.

WalletHub released a list on Monday (June 22nd) ranking each state in order from most patriotic to least. Minnesota and Wisconsin both placed in the top ten. Wow!

Wisconsin was named the eighth most patriotic state while Minnesota came in right underneath at number nine. This isn't too shabby!

To come to the conclusion of the study, WalletHub looked at factors like most veterans per capita, most Peace Corps volunteers per capita and highest volunteer rates, among other factors.

Helping both states rank so high on the list was the turnout of voters for the 2016 presidential election. Both Minnesota and Wisconsin had some of the highest percentages of adults who turned out to vote. Minnesota also has one of the highest volunteer rates, which helped land it in the top ten.

Coming in at number one on the list was New Hampshire. Wyoming, Idaho and Alaska help round out the top of the list.

New York and New Jersey are the two lowest ranking states on the list, meaning they aren't really feeling all too patriotic these days.

Sadly, it looks like many big Fourth of July events won't go on this year as usual, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cloquet is one of many cities who have cancelled their big fireworks show due to the concern over public safety. Next year, we will definitely appreciate fireworks a whole lot more!
