The Minnesota Vikings are giving up on having a significant number of fans at remaining 2020 home games.

The Vikings released a statement today saying that after talking with officials at the State of Minnesota and the City of Minneapolis that they will "no longer pursue hosting more than 250 fans for the remaining 2020 Vikings regular season home games."

U.S. Bank Stadium can accommodate over 66,000 fans for a normal Vikings game, so 250 people are essentially nothing in a building that size. The team says, "We take seriously Minnesota's rising COVID infection rates and increasing hospitalizations and believe closing the final four home games to fans is the right decision to help protect our community.

The Vikings hope that they can welcome fans back into U.S. Bank Stadium in 2021, but to do that they are reminding the public to follow social distancing guidelines, and to wear a mask, preferably a purple and yellow one.

"Players, coaches and staff have missed the energy and passion Vikings fans bring on game day and appreciate the unwavering remote support as we enter the second half of the 2020 season," the team said in the statement.

The Vikings will host the Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Chicago Bears for the final four home games of the 2020 season, all of which look like wins to me. SKOL!
