Minnesota Man Dies While Snorkeling In Hawaii
It is being reported that a 52-year-old St. Paul man died while snorkeling in Hawaii last week.
The man, who was identified as John Anderson of St. Paul, died while out snorkeling off the west coast of Maui. Reports say that crew members saw one man in the group who was not moving and went to check on him. Anderson was unresponsive and just floating in the water. After getting him on board they started CPR. Paramedics were not able to resuscitate Anderson.
The Pioneer Press is also reporting that Anderson is now one of nine people to die while snorkeling/scuba diving in Maui in the last 15 days. I had no clue how dangerous, but according to the Honolulu Civil Beat Snorkeling is the number one leading cause of tourist deaths in Hawaii.
