Minnesota Has Had Over 300 Traffic Deaths So Far in 2020
Minnesota has hit a grim milestone.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports that there have been 308 traffic deaths on Minnesota roads in 2020, in 2019 that number wasn't reached until October 29th.
Here is a breakdown of the fatalities on Minnesota roads:
• 192 motor vehicle occupants.
• 54 motorcyclists.
• 35 pedestrians.
• 9 bicyclists.
The Minnesota State Patrol says that Speed, alcohol and distracted driving are the leading causes of death on the roadways.

Local and state officials have been reminding the public to stick with speed limits and have been reporting upticks in speeding since the beginning of the pandemic and stay at home orders.
364 traffic fatalities were recorded by the end of 2019. The State Patrol says on average 103 lives are lost on Minnesota roads from October through the end of the year.
