Only In Minnesota! DMV Holds Contest To Pick On Hold Music
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services division is holding a contest to pick what music you listen to while on hold. At first, I thought this was satire, but sure enough, it's on the front page of their website.
Dealing with Driver and Vehicle Services usually means some wait time, whether it's in person or not. According to their Facebook post, their music "isn't hitting the right chord." So, they brought four new options for you to pick from.
You can dial up 469-397-3737. Strange that it's a Texas area code, but apparently they outsourced the survey.
When you dial the number, an automated message instructs you to press 1 through 4 to listen to the songs. You then vote for your favorite song on the Minnesota Department of Public Safety website.
The first song is a jazzy, saxophone-heavy tune called My Time To Fly. The second option is a bright, poppy, upbeat stroll called This and That Life.

The third option is a moodier, laid-back pop song called "Throw Yourself In Front of It." The final option is an easy rock tune, Everywhere the Sun Shines.

After careful consideration, I voted for option 2, "This and That Is Life." I think this would be the best choice of a song to calm my nerves if I'm on hold with the DMV.
People on social media originally thought this was a joke, but it is legit. Make sure to cast your vote, now!
