MeatEater Season 9 Part 2 Drops On Netflix on February 17, Get Ready To Binge
Odds are that if you are into hunting or fishing, you're well aware of Steven Rinella's "MeatEater" show. It's a pretty fantastic look at hunting and fishing in familiar places, and even some exotic locations across the world. My friends turned me on to the podcast years ago. Fortunately, not long ago Netflix picked up some of the more recent seasons of the show.
Seasons 7,8, and the first 5 episodes of season 9 are already available. According to a Facebook post on the MeatEater page, the second half of season 9 will be available on February 17. You can see Steve kneeling in a cornfield with a couple of ducks: one fresh, and one plucked.
What I love most about MeatEater is the thoughtful insight to what hunting means to people. It's a tough thing to try to defend to some activists that don't understand the values that come with hunting, tradition, and conservation. The crew on the show does a great job showcasing the essential values of hunters, while at the same time doing it in a respectful, non confrontational manner.
Also you can get some great insights on how to cook wild game with some tasty recipes. We are fortunate in The Northland to be able to hunt most of the same species featured on the show. I've found some great new ways to prepare venison, ducks, and other small game.
So mark your calendar for February 17. If you're like me, you need to decide if you're going to binge watch it right away, or savor the episodes one a time.
