Man First Walked On The Moon 42 Years Ago Today

It was July 20, 1969 when the world first heard, "The Eagle Has Landed." Shortly afterwords Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first men to step on the moon. Although there isn't anything fancy about the 42nd anniversary, it's still important to remember this significant event, and the sacrifices that were made to get there.

Most people don't remember the names like Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee who burned to death in an accident early on in the Apollo program.  People for a while began to think of spaceflight as just another launch, or mission, no big deal.  Every mission was always one mistake away from disaster.  It's truly amazing what these young men could do with hand written math equations and primitive computers.
