Sold! This Must-See Iconic Wisconsin Lake Estate Originally Listed For $39.25 Million
Last fall, my wife and I had the opportunity to take a road trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to see a dear friend of ours who lives in the area. The reason we went was so that we could all take the 20+ mile walk around Lake Geneva, which is one of the best lakes in all of the Midwest.
Because so many people enjoy walking part, or all, of Lake Geneva, all property owners on the lake must maintain a public-assessible path on their property. These paths, which are generally near the lakeshore, can take a variety of forms, but as long as people can continue their journey it's all good.
This all-day walk is a fun way to get plenty of exercise and you get to look at amazing properties throughout your journey (and stop for food and drinks along the way).
The standout estate on Lake Geneva is Glanworth Gardens. This isn't only because of how massive the estate is, but because of the rich history it contains within the area.
When we were on our walk, I was sadly informed that the current owner, Richard Driehaus, had passed away earlier in the year. At that time, nobody had heard what would happen next with this iconic estate.
We now have the answer. In October, 2021, the estate was listed for sale for just the third time since it was built in 1906. The original asking price is $39.25 million.
With 13 bedrooms, 12.5 baths, 13 fireplaces, a guest wing, a separate guest house, amazing landscaping and countless other features, you must take a look!
