Lanco Love the CMA Awards Because It’s a ‘Big Family Reunion’
There was a lot for viewers at home to enjoy about this year's CMA Awards, but what happens after the show ends is just as fun, and Lanco's Brandon Lancaster got to experience all of it.
"That whole week really is fun because it's kind of like a big family reunion. It's a night to celebrate songwriters and celebrate artists and celebrate just all the people that are involved in the country music community," Lancaster tells Taste of Country Nights.
But one of the most special aspects of CMA week is the fact that all of the artists are in one place at one time, allowing them to reconnect with one another after months apart on the road. "It's a week where everyone is all in town and it really feels like just a big high school reunion. Everyone's hanging out and actually all in the same place for once, so it was a fun week to say the least," he explains.
Just some of the pals Lancaster got to spend time with? Luke Combs and John and TJ of Brothers Osborne (and they got a solid "Hey, bro" head nod from the one and only Luke Bryan). They also had the chance to meet Chris Stapleton for the first time backstage at the awards show. Lancaster reveals he's a "man of few words, but that was cool."
Lancaster also got to spend some quality time with his soon-to-be tourmate, Chris Young, at the 2017 BMI Awards. Young is set to bring Lanco and Kane Brown on the road with him for his 2018 Losing Sleep Tour. "We talked about the tour, took some selfies, it was just a good night," he shares. "We were hyping each other up about the tour, so that was fun."
In addition to hitting the road with Young, Lanco will also release their new album in January of 2018.
