If you spent anytime on Lake Minnetonka over the 4th of July holiday weekend, you should be aware of a potential link between the lake and reports of illness.

According to Fox 9 out of the Twin Cities, Minnesota health officials are investigating multiple reports of illness possibly associated with the "Big Island" area of Lake Minnetonka.  Health officials are working together to determine the type of illness.

Those who have reported illness are experiencing symptoms which include diarrhea and vomiting. Officials are testing fecal matter from those affected in order to determine if the illness is foodborne, water-borne, or something unrelated.

Anyone who has experienced recent vomiting and/or diarrhea, and who were in the Lake Minnetonka area around July 4th, should call the disease investigation phone number to report symptoms at 612-543-5230.
