That's good news for lovers of Asian cuisine in Minnesota as a trendy, fast-growing chain is opening its first restaurant in the state and an official opening date has now been set.

Popular Asian Restaurant Chain Ready To Open First Minnesota Location

KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot is quickly gaining popularity across the country, or as they say on their website, they are 'leading a cultural dining revolution.'

Founded in 2018, the chain was the second fastest-growing restaurant brand by sales growth in 2023, according to Technomic Top 500. It now has locations in 29 states and plans to open in 11 more states soon. They currently list 166 locations that are either open or scheduled to open soon.

They boast of being a ‘unique, hands-on, all-you-can-eat experience that merges traditional Asian hot pot with Korean BBQ flavors', served in a nightlife environment that also features a full bar.

Now, Minnesota will soon get its first taste of the KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot experience when they reportedly open at 13601 Grove Drive in Maple Grove.

Initial reports indicated the Maple Grove location would be opening the first week in March, however, a quick Google search showed it planned on opening on Friday, February 28.

Either way, once March arrives people will get to experience for themselves what all the buzz is about by visiting Minnesota's first KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot.

What Is Korean BBQ And Hot Pot Cuisine?

According to its website, Korean BBQ involves grilling meat over open flames and, with the invention of the tabletop grill, it's now a popular dining experience that allows guests to grill a variety of meats and veggies at the table in an interactive meal experience.

Hot Pot is another wonderful communal dining experience where people gather around a simmering pot of broth to cook and share a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles. KPOT prides itself on having a variety of broths to allow guests to customize their meals.

Hopefully, the Maple Grove location is the first of what will eventually be several locations that open in Minnesota.
