Bigfoot Scares Off Teenagers In Wisconsin State Forest Hot Spot

Do you believe in Bigfoot? Two 19-year-olds from Wisconsin certainly do after they report witnessing a massive Bigfoot at night in the woods. They were playing with bottle rockets on a rural road when the sighting occurred.

The Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO), published a follow-up to their investigation of a sighting that took place on September 1, 2025. The incident happened in Walworth County near Palmyra in the Kettle Moraine Oak Opening. It's a DNR-listed Natural Area, and part of the larger Kettle Moraine State Forest.

The Kettle Moraine State Forest is about 56,000 acres, and is spread across 1 hundred miles. It's located in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Incident Report September 1st, 2025

The full report from the BFRO has all the details, but here's the long story short. Two 19-year-olds were riding in their 90s Chevy truck out on Young Road in the Kettle Moraine Oak Opening. They were shooting off bottle rockets for "harmless fun."

They used the dome light in the cab to provide enough light to shoot off the fireworks. After 20 minutes of firing off bottle rockets, they heard something approach them in the grass from the other side of the road.

The cargo light on the truck lights up the figure that the witnesses describe as 7.5 - 8 feet tall, muscular, with black and white hair. It had black eyes and a slit for the mouth. The figure was outlined with the moon in the background.

It Approached The Witnesses

They claim that the creature approached them slowly and confidently. It scared the heck out of them, so they hopped in the truck and sped away. They did return to the scene later with a high-powered flashlight, but they didn't find anything. The next day they went back and did find pressed down grass near what they previously seen.

Investigator Deems Report Credible

Investigators Mark Dominick and Tom Norstrem met with the witnesses on-site. They took measurements and talked to the witnesses. They believe them to be credible.

There have been other strange happenings in the area over the years. They've heard rocks being thrown, branches being snapped clean in half, howls, whistles, and deep grunts in the area.
