We've missed Jared Allen, and apparently he's missed being a Minnesota Viking.   Jared Allen just signed a one day contract with the Minnesota Vikings, just so he could retire as a Vikings player.   He will officially retire tomorrow.

This is great news for Viking's fans because Allen has been named one of the 50 best Viking's players of all time.

Owner Zygi Wilf had this to say about Allen in a press release:

“We are incredibly proud to have Jared retire as a member of the Vikings franchise,” said Vikings Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf. “Jared was not only a phenomenal player on the field, but he was also a favorite among the fans and within the organization. He will always be a member of the Minnesota Vikings family.”

Jared Allen also started the 'Jared Allen's Homes For Wounded Warriors' in 2009.  He was also a big part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul community throughout the years he played here.

I think all Vikings fans can agree that this is a pretty cool thing they've done.  We are glad to have him even more a part of our alumni?
