The Power Trip Morning Show spent their Friday morning under a big top tent in front of the Social House in Canal Park, doing their show live in Duluth to kick off Grandma's Marathon weekend.

As the Duluth affiliate of KFAN's programming, the FAN 106.5 was excited to welcome the crew back to Duluth to start the festivities of a busy weekend in Duluth that includes our broadcast of the half and full marathon on Saturday morning.

While fan-favorite Paul "Meatsauce" Lambert was on vacation with his wife, the rest of the crew was in attendance, with Chris Hawkey, Corey Cove, and Zach Halverson welcoming their regular guests Mark Parrish and Marney Gellner to the show, along with local legend Tyler George of the US Olympic Curling Team.

Zach Schneider, PR and marketing person for Grandma's Marathon, joined the show to offer some fun facts and perspective as to how big of an event this is for the region, as the marathon was woven into the day's broadcast.

Being the on-location show was on a Friday, that means the Initials Game was part of the fun at the end of the show, too. Tyler George would go on to win in an exciting overtime tiebreaker against Chris Hawkey.

The crowd of fans was treated by the Social House to breakfast burritos, coffee, and eventually, they opened up an outdoor bar to kick off the weekend. Huge shoutout to them as well as our other sponsors, NorthStar Ford, Northern View Construction, 310 Pub, Zenith Auto Glass, Northland Ag & Turf, and Wandrin West for making this event possible.

Here's a look at the fun from Friday morning!
