I ended up with an impressive collection of model trains and slot car sets. My dad built a nice setup in our basement so I could play with the toy trains and race cars. I would spend hours running them through on the tracks.

With people who are such avid collectors like that, conventions and events are very popular. In fact, America's largest operating model train show happens every year in Wisconsin. It's fittingly called Trainfest. It's on November 23rd and 24th (9am to 5pm) at the Baird Center in Milwaukee.

Trainfest features 170,000 square feet of toy trains. There will be model train manufacturers and dealers with 250 booths. Free riding train rides for the children including Tom The Tank Engine. You can also check out over 50 operating model train displays. It's going to be a special weekend for train and toy fans.
