Many people are deathly afraid of any kind of snake, so this news about them in a Wisconsin State Park might really freak some people out.

This Wisconsin State Park Is Home To Timber Rattlesnakes

Honestly, I've never had a real encounter with any snakes besides at a zoo or animal sanctuary. My fear of snakes mostly comes from what I've seen in movies and television shows. You shouldn't live in fear of snakes, but it is good to be aware of and have knowledge of them. Authorities at Devil's Lake State Park recently announced that Timber Rattlesnakes have been spotted on the grounds. Don't worry, this isn't something new. The Rattlers have made that state park home for many, many years. Though it is scary to hear the word rattlesnake at a place where you could potentially hang out, knowing the facts will help you in the long run.

First of all, Timber Rattlesnakes want nothing to do with you. A human would rarely see one at Devil's Lake State Park. When they hear someone coming, they'll take off to hide. Stay on the paths and don't go off-roading. They like to hide in the brush. Rattlesnakes enjoy sunning on the rocks, so if you're going climbing, watch where you put your hands and feet. If you hear that rattle, know that your best bet is to slowly move away.
