Valleyfair To Be Included in Massive New Pricing Plan

The parent company that now owns Valleyfair just announced a massive new pricing plan that affects 27 amusement parks across the country, including here in Minnesota.

Valleyfair has been Minnesota's lone amusement park for nearly 50 years now, standing tall along Highway 169 in Shakopee since it first opened back in 1976. The park features more than 75 rides including eight roller coasters, Planet Snoopy featuring 15 children’s rides, and is home to Soak City, a seven-acre water park filled with slides, a wave pool, lazy river, and children’s water features.

Earlier this summer, Valleyfair announced that it had new owners, as a merger deal between Cedar Fair and Six Flags had officially closed. That means that Valleyfair is now part of the new Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. And now there's word that Six Flags Entertainment has just unveiled a massive new pricing plan that's good news if you like to check out some of its other amusement parks in addition to Valleyfair.

According to this AOL Business story, Six Flags just announced a new pass to ALL of its parks, though it's not officially on sale just everywhere yet. AOL noted the new pass, which gets users access to ALL of the previous Six Flag Entertainment's legacy parks, went on sale at its Schlitterbahn Amusement Waterpark and Resort in Texas earlier this week. And, it now also includes all of the previous Cedar Fair legacy parks, as well (including Valleyfair.)

In case this sounds familiar, Valleyfair has offered a similar All-Park Passport Add-On (announced last July, according to this release) that grants users access to many legacy Cedar Fair parks. This new All-Park Passport Add-On appears to include admission to all those parks, in addition to the previous Six Flag legacy parks as well.

The AOL story says those add-on passports will be good for the remainder of the 2024 season plus the 2025 season as well. And while they're only on-sale now at a few locations, the story said they'll be available at all of Six Flag Entertainment parks (which would appear to include Valleyfair) starting on January 6, 2025.

Before that merger announcement on July 1st, the Valleyfair campus in Shakopee was affected by rising flood waters from the Minnesota River and was forced to close several rides as well as part of their parking area. It was also forced to reschedule its popular Fourth of July fireworks display. Check out what things looked like in late June.

Now, though, the waters have receded and all rides and the parking area have been back open for several weeks. Valleyfair also announced that its popular Fourth of July fireworks display will be taking place at a new date later this summer:

Valleyfair announced that the canceled Fourth of July fireworks display has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 31 during the final weekend of Corn Fest and Labor Day weekend. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m.
