It’s not every day the Minnesota Twins get to step onto one of baseball’s most legendary stages. But later this week, the team will be part of an unforgettable game straight out of a movie.

Minnesota Twins Fans Suffered Through a Rough 2025 Season

It's safe to say the Twins had a pretty rough baseball season in 2025. When the wins didn't pile up on the field during the first half of the season, the result was the Twins front office putting on a fire sale that saw nearly 40 percent of their starting roster traded away.

Things got so bad last year that the Twins drew the lowest season attendance in Target Field history, with the fewest number of fans on hand since the stadium opened back in 2010. And so far in 2026, fan attendance has been slightly below the 2025 level, the website Baseball-Reference reports.

Minnesota Twins Field of Dreams Game Is Thursday

But the Twins have played better than many expected they would so far this year. As of Monday, August 10th, their record is 57 and 61 (.487), and the club is just a game-and-a-half out of being in line for a Wild Card bid to the playoffs.

And, they're set to take the national stage this Thursday, August 13th, during Major League Baseball's Field of Dreams Game in Dyersville, Iowa. The meeting will be the third installment of 'MLB at Field of Dreams,' and is set to air live on Netflix.

The site itself has undergone a massive renovation and expansion since the last MLB game was played there in 2022. CBS News reported in 2023 that it was sold to new owners who have spent $80 million to add nine ball fields for youth baseball and softball, a 100,000-square-foot fieldhouse, a 104-room boutique hotel, an RV park, a concert amphitheater, jogging trails through the cornfields, and more, the story said.

What to Know About the Twins Field of Dreams Game

This event will be a Twins home date, with the Thursday game followed by a Friday off-day before the two teams resume their three game-set at Target Field in Minneapolis on Saturday. The Twins will be wearing 1960s-inspired white home jerseys with navy pinstripes and the classic "Minnie and Paul" sleeve patch. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. CDT on Thursday on Netflix.
