Minnesota Now One of the Richest States in America 2025

The rankings didn’t just factor in income, though. Things like home values and overall cost of living also played a role in determining where each state landed on Home Snacks' Richest in America list.

The average home price in Minnesota is sitting just under $325,000, which isn’t exactly pocket change, but compared to some other states, it’s practically a steal.

We didn’t crack the top 10, but we are significantly higher than our neighboring states and still in the upper half of the country coming in at 17th overall.

The richest state was Massachusetts, followed by Hawaii, California, Washington, and New Jersey rounding out the top five.
