It's another impressive award for the biggest airport in Minnesota, which has once again been named the best airport in the entire country.

There's more good news if you're flying out of the Land of 10,000 Lakes: The 2024 Airport Satisfaction Survey from noted consumer research firm J.D. Power has just ranked the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) in Bloomington as the Top Airport in the U.S. for Customer Satisfaction.

The latest ranking, which is based on more than 26,000 surveys from U.S. and Canadian travelers, ranked MSP first in the Mega Airport category, ahead of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, which topped the list last year. If this award seems familiar, MSP also topped the J.D. Power survey back in 2022.

Here are the top airports in the U.S., according to the 2024 J.D. Power survey:

  1. Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport
  2. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
  3. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
  4. John F. Kennedy International Airport/New York
  5. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
  6. Harry Reid International Airport/Las Vegas
  7. San Francisco International Airport
  8. Orlando International Airport

This isn't the first time Minnesota's MSP has been singled out as being tops in the nation. Earlier this spring, MSP was again named the best not just in the U.S., but on the entire North American continent according to the ASQ Awards and Recognition survey. And, MSP was also named the number one U.S. airport in the 2024 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards.

And, last year, MSP has regularly placed among the top airports in the country according to an annual survey by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) as well as having recently been named one of the cleanest airports in the world.

And, don't forget, MSP was also named Best in North America for four straight years between 2016 and 2019, and also earned a spot on the ACI Director General’s Roll of Excellence in Airport Service Quality in 2020, MSP noted in a release.

Plus, MSP was rated as the Fourth-Best Regional Airport in North America in 2022, with only Houston, Denver, and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky ranking higher. And, MSP also ranked 9th on the list of Cleanest Airports in North America for 2021, according to the SkyTrax World Airport Awards, as well.

MSP is the 19th busiest airport in North America and served nearly 35 million passengers in 2023, up over 10 percent from 2022. and is the second largest hub for Delta Air Lines, as well as the hometown base for Sun Country Airlines.
