Dear people who don't carry cash,

I would urge you to carry a little bit of cash with you at all times, especially in the summer. I know not many people don't carry cash these days, and usually I'm one of them. But I plan to have a bit of cash on me this summer.

The reason why is simple: kids lemonade stands.

Yep, lemonade stands. And you know why? Because stopping by a kid's lemonade stand absolutely makes their day.

It was like a right of passage as a kid to have a lemonade stand (or a Kool Aid stand or a baked goods stand). I remember doing a few back in the day and it was always THE BEST when someone stopped by. It made me feel good!

You could make a kid's day this summer just because you carried some cash.

So this summer, make sure you've got at least a couple bucks on you all the time. When you go out on a walk, maybe throw some cash in your back pocket. Then, when you pass by a kid's lemonade stand you can stop and make their day.

Make them feel special. Make them feel important and like they've really accomplished something.

My trouble in the past is you never know when you'll pass by a lemonade stand, either on a walk or when you're driving. And then when I did happen upon one, I didn't have cash on me, so I didn't stop.

Make sure you've got some cash on you this summer. You might really make a kid's day.
