Rochester, MN Animal Rescue Helps Reunite Chicago Man with His Dog
There are tons of animals adopted through rescues each year, but it's not too often you hear about a reunion of a dog with their true owner because of a rescue. That's what happened thanks to this rescue in Rochester, Minnesota!
The rescue that, well, came to the rescue, was Paws and Claws. I've been volunteering at Paws and Claws for almost three years and I've never seen something like this happen before.
Dog Surrendered to Paws and Claws Humane Society
An adorable tan-colored dog was surrendered to Paws and Claws by a woman in Rochester, according to KAAL. I don't know the official breed but she looks to be some sort of pit bull. She has cute ears that stand straight up and inquisitive eyes.
Then a man in Chicago reached out to Paws and Claws saying that she was his dog.
Turns out, the woman who surrendered the dog was supposed to be watching her for this man in Chicago.
Getting Sheeba Home
The dog's name ended up being Sheeba and her owner's name is William. KAAL spoke with William and he said "'I was actually trying to get up there to get my dog back, but I wasn’t able to. I ran into car troubles and I’m still having car troubles.'"
Thankfully, Sheeba had come into the care of Paws and Claws and they set up a reunion between William and Sheeba.
Volunteer Kristi packed up Sheeba and they hit the road to Chicago for the reunion.
Over 300 miles later, Sheeba made it home to William and as you can see in the picture, both were very happy to be reunited.
