Major Update to a Popular Attraction at the Minnesota State Fair
The Minnesota State Fair runs through Labor Day and draws around 2 million visitors each summer, making it the second-largest state fair in the country.
People attend for various reasons, including the unique food options. This year, there are 33 new food items to try. The grandstand acts always attract large crowds. This year's lineup includes Blake Shelton, Ludacris, Motley Crue, and more. Rides and attractions are also a big draw, though one of the fair's most popular attractions will differ greatly this year.

A trip to the Minnesota State Fair isn't cheap. When you factor in admission, parking, food, drinks, rides, vendors, and everything else the average person spends a little over $100 each day they attend the fair. Families can easily spend hundreds of dollars.
There are a bunch of budget-friendly (FREE) things to do once you're inside the fair though including numerous daily performances at the Family Fair Stage, International Bazaar Stage, Leinie Lodge Bandshell Stage, Schell's Stage at Schilling Amphitheater, and The North Woods Stage.
Another popular free activity is exploring the vendors and 4-H exhibits. Unfortunately, one of these attractions will be missing its main event.
Due to the avian flu, state agricultural officials have announced that the Miracle of Birth Center will not feature birthing cows or newborn calves this year. However, the exhibit will still include lambs, goats, piglets, and other animals.
