WARNING: a new scam has popped up in the United States that everyone in Minnesota needs to be aware of.

2.6 million fraud reports were filed with the Federal Trade Commission in 2023.  And according to f-secure.com, "7 in 10 people say that they don't know who to trust online".

I am one of those people.  The ads that I see for Judy Blue Jeans on Facebook for less than $4 HAVE to be fake.  I'd rather miss out on the deal than take a chance on having my credit card number passed around on the dark web.

Speaking of trusting people...one of the latest scams that has surfaced in the United States is all about trust.

We've been told for years to shred our documents or find a place to do that for you.  Well, the scammers are now wanting you to just hand your box of sensitive documents to them.  According to Yahoo.com, officials in Springfield, Illinois got word of "an unauthorized document shred event".

The scam indicated that residents in the area could bring up to 6 boxes to the shredding event.  However, the city had no record of this event happening.  They weren't organizing it and they believed it was a scam targeting its residents.  Potentially, people would be handing over 6 boxes of sensitive information which could lead to identity theft and more.
