If you are a true Minnesotan, there is one food that is a must for your palate!  No...not lutefisk.  That sounds like one of the nastiest things ever to put on your tongue.  The food that everyone always seems to know and talk about is lefse.  If this rolled-up treat is something you crave, some good news just popped up for you!  A store is bringing lefse to you, but not in the traditional way that you love to eat it around the holidays.  I think you'll still like it though.

The Perfect Minnesota Company Is Now Open...and If You Are a True Minnesotan, You'll Love It!

I love learning about new businesses that are opening in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, going to grand openings, and being inspired by the owners and hearing about the passion that wakes them up each day.  It takes a lot of hard work to make a business run but it also takes a great idea.  When I heard about this new business called Tiger Trail Lefse Chip Company in Peterson, Minnesota, I knew their idea was gold!

According to their Facebook page, Tiger Trail Lefse Chip Company just opened on June 14th and their specialty is "seasoned chips made from lefse".  They've got an adorable shop and they would love to have you stop by and say hello.

Where Is Tiger Trail Lefse Chip Company in Minnesota?

Just in case you want to give the new place a look, here are a few directions to help you find your way to the lefse chips.

What Is Lefse?  (For Those Of Us Who Aren't True Minnesotans)

I don't think I'm the only one in the state who didn't grow up in Minnesota.  I'm also more of a mixture of unknown people due to adoptions in my family so I don't have a clue if I am Scandinavian-American.  Since I've never had lefse or heard about it until I got to Minnesota, I'm just going to say that I don't.  (And yes, I know I can take those ancestry tests but I really don't have a desire to dig deep into my unknown family history.)

If you are like me and you moved here wondering what in the world people were talking about when they said the word "lefse", here's the definition according to Wikipedia:

Lefse is a Norwegian treat that is especially popular around the Christmas holidays. Many Scandinavian-Americans eat lefse primarily around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

In all of my years of living here, no one ever told me lefse was a holiday thing.  It makes sense now why I can't find it year-round at the farmer's market.

Huge congrats to the new store!  Your lefse chips might be the first taste of lefse that I experience...and I have been in this state for 24 years.
