When the National Weather Service issues words like "Extreme Cold" for the entire state of Minnesota, I can guarantee that the words "Why Do I Live Here" are spoken in unison by thousands. And then...we start thinking about the reasons why we hate this state.

When we get that first snowfall, it is a brief moment of happiness as those large flakes gently float from the sky as we sit on our couches with a fresh cup of hot coffee in our hands. The green grass we worked so hard all summer is now blanketed with perfectly white snow and we just take it all in.

For those who throw on their fleece-lined leggings and boots as soon as weather.com issues a winter weather advisory, this is their favorite moment ever...and honestly, they should come hang out with my St. Bernard. He LOVES the snow and would stay outside all day if I let him.

And then there are others who are searching Zillow and Realtor.com right now and looking to make a move to a warmer climate. I am one of those people. We want a place that takes our breath away because it is gorgeous, not because it is -30 degrees and our nose hairs are frozen.
