Gaylord, MN (MinnesotaNow)- The State Patrol has identified a motorist who died in a crash while towing a vehicle in southern Minnesota earlier this week.

First responders were dispatched to the fatality shortly before 11:00 Monday morning in Sibley County. 

An SUV towing a small truck was involved in the deadly crash. The SUV had two occupants.

Lakeville Man Towing Truck Dies in Sibley County Crash

The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 19 and 441st Ave., which is about 35 miles north of Mankato. 

The state crash report says the SUV was traveling east on Hwy. 19 when the truck it was towing began to fishtail, which caused the SUV to roll into the ditch. 

48-year-old Kristopher Michael Anderson of Lakeville was identified as the SUV driver. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the State Patrol says. 

Passenger injured in Southern MN Fatal Crash

His passenger, identified as 42-year-old Jennifer Carol Hoffart of Sioux Falls, SD, was taken to a nearby Emergency Room with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. 

Anderson was not buckled up and Hoffart was wearing her seatbelt. The state crash report also says alcohol was not involved in the fatality.
