Montgomery, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with an SUV in southern Minnesota over the weekend.

The State Patrol responded to the fatality shortly after 8:45 Sunday morning. The drivers were the only people involved in the deadly crash.

59-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Collison With SUV at Intersection in Montgomery, MN
The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 21 and Le Sueur County Rd. 3 in Montgomery.
The SUV was heading north on County Rd. 3 and the motorcycle was eastbound on Hwy. 21 when the two collided in the intersection, according to the state crash report.
59-year-old David Edward Johnston of Montgomery, MN was identified as the motorcycle operator.

He was taken to North Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries, according to the State Patrol. Johnston was not wearing a helmet, the state crash report says.
SUV Driver Not Hurt
53-year-old Megan Cecilia Holicky of Le Center was driving the SUV. She escaped the deadly collision without injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The state crash report says alcohol was not a factor in the fatal crash.
