St. Paul, MN (MinnesotaNow)- Authorities in the Twin Cities are asking for the public’s help with identifying a body that was recovered from the Mississippi River nearly 12 months ago.

A news release issued by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office says the deceased person was discovered in St. Paul on May 23 of last year. 

Officials say the case and DNA information has been entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

Authorities pulled the body from the river in the area of the St. Paul Yacht Club and Harriet Island near downtown St. Paul

The deceased is believed to be a white male, ranging in height from 5'10" to 6'2" and weighing at least 150 pounds. The news release says the deceased male was dressed in black jeans, a red graphic t-shirt and a black Reebok hoodie. 

Authorities also say he had "surgical hardware” in his right and ankle and had dental work done, however attempts to identify him through the hardware and dental work have not been successful.  

Investigators believe he had been dead for at least four weeks before his body was recovered. Authorities have not said whether or not foul play is suspected. 

“Anyone with information that would help in identifying this person should contact the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office at 651-266-1700 or RCMedicalExaminer@co.ramsey.mn.us and reference case number 25-1653,” the news release says.
