There have been so many recalls recently.  Not all in one type of product, either.  I mean, there always seems to be some sort of recall when it comes to cars or other motorized vehicles. And recently a lot of food has had recalls.  The strangest one, to me, has been the recall of romaine lettuce.

Now, we have an even stranger recall.  At least I think it's odd.  A recall on frozen waffles.  The issue - listeria. How does that even happen with waffles?  Until now, if you would have asked me if there could be an issue with a waffle, other than them getting stale or moldy, I wouldn't have thought there could be an issue.  I stand corrected.

The frozen waffles that are at risk of listeria, have been sold at Walmart, Aldi and Target. And if you look nationwide, the recall includes 500 different types of waffles.

Let's first be clear that there haven't been any reports of anyone getting sick from these waffles, it was discovered after a routine test.

The recalled waffles are sold under a variety of names including Walmart’s Great Value, Target’s Good & Gather and private label brands sold by Food Lion, Kroger and Schnucks. It also produces waffles for brands like Kodiak Cakes, Simple Truth and Foodhold.

If you do have any of these varieties of waffles, you are advised to either throw them away, or bring them back to the store for a refund/credit.

At this point, you are probably better off just growing your own food, and making everything from scratch.  At least for now, anyway.  And those indoor herb gardens that people put in their kitchen windows are looking better and better.
