Minnesota Painter Caught Red-Handed- Owes Money to Customers
KITCHEN REMODEL NIGHTMARE?
Imagine saving thousands of dollars over time, to have your kitchen cabinets repainted, and then a year later, the job you saved all the money for is lost, along with all of your cabinet doors.
This is the unfortunate truth for many homeowners in Minnesota.
Several families hired a man off of Facebook, named Patric LeCorre. LeCorre made a good impression on most of these people, talking about his record-breaking football career at Edina. His Facebook page also had good reviews. Everything seemed legitimate enough.
CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS
According to the report, LeCorre would be paid thousands of dollars upfront to paint people's cabinet doors and would take the doors with him. His job was to paint them, and once they were completed to return the doors. Unfortunately, some of the customers have been living in their homes with their kitchens looking like a messy remodel for months and months.
Chris and Maria Gullickson hired Lecorre to paint their cabinets. LeCorre started the project but never finished the project, even after they paid him $3000 to do the job. Chris said, "Yeah, I mean, we saved a couple of months to be able to afford this. It was just a constant state of him saying he was going to show up, then we wouldn't hear from him for three or four days. Then he would call and say something about his vehicle."
Another couple in Plymouth demanded that LeCorre refund their money when they finally got their unfinished cabinet doors back. LeCorre told them that he would send them a payment, and did not follow through with the refund at that time.
According to another couple, they say they paid him MORE than $7000 for the work that started last October, and STILL don't have their cabinet doors. They trusted him enough to also give them a house key and garage door opener, which LeCorre also still has.
REFUNDS
After the story ran on KARE11, LeCorre contacted the station and told them that he was in the process of repaying all of his customers, and KARE 11 confirmed that customers have now received either a full or partial refund from LeCorre.
LeCorre said that he took on more jobs than he could handle, and he is no longer soliciting jobs, but that is the reason for all of the problems trying to get the projects completed.
