Toby Keith was honored during a moving tribute at the CMT Music Awards Sunday night (April 7), and his kids were there to support him, walking the red carpet together.

Krystal Keith, Shelley Covel Rowland, Stelen Keith and his wife, Haley, flew to Austin, Texas, to make an appearance at the show, where they took in a televised three-song tribute to their dad.

Brooks & Dunn, rocker Sammy Hagar and Lainey Wilson had the honor of each singing one of Keith's hits: "How Do You Like Me Now," "Should've Been a Cowboy" and "I Love This Bar."

Baseball icon Roger Clemens, a good friend of the late singer, shepherded the performances with a few words, then left Keith's adult kids — and the audience — in tears when he closed it out by thanking Keith's wife Tricia (not in attendance) for sharing her husband with the world.

How Did Toby Keith Die?

Keith died on Feb. 5, 2024, after a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. He revealed his diagnosis to fans in 2021, then taking time away from the spotlight to rest and fight his cancer. In late 2023, he told Taste of Country that he was looking forward to touring again.

Unfortunately, he didn't get the chance, nor did he learn that he'll be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this October.
