When Little Big Town and Sugarland debut a brand new collaboration on the 2024 CMT Music Awards, it will be more than just a new song: That night will mark the return of Sugarland to the country music spotlight.

While details surround the song itself are under wraps, it will be a welcomed sight to see Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush together again.

It's been seven years since their last album, Bigger, was released. The performance also marks 13 years since their appearance on the show's stage. They'll join Karen Fairchild, Kimberley Schlapman, Philip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook — aka Little Big Town — who will be logging their 13th CMT Music Awards performance.

It won't be the first time all six singers have performed together: Little Big Town and Sugarland linked up with Jake Owen for a performance of the song "Life In a Northern Town" 15 years ago.

Both musical acts have a long successful history with the CMT Music Awards. Little Big Town have four awards under their belt and they hold the record for being the most-nominated for Group Video of the Year, with 25 nods. The band also hosted the show in 2018 and 2019.

Sugarland have been nominated for 19 CMT Music Awards and have won four.

When Are the CMT Music Awards?

The 2024 CMT Music Awards are set for Sunday, April 7, at 8PM ET. The show will once again take place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, airing live on CBS. It will be available live and on demand on Paramount+.

The show will once again be hosted by Kelsea Ballerini. It's her fourth-consecutive year hosting, but her first to do it without the help of Kane Brown, who has been by her side the last three years.

In addition to her hosting duties, Ballerini is scheduled to perform on the show, and she's in a five-way tie for the most nominations this year alongside Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll and Megan Moroney, each of whom will be performing too.

It will be an electric night with Sam Hunt, Old Dominion, Parker McCollum and more set to entertain the audience.

How Do I Vote for the CMT Music Awards?

The CMT Music Awards are a fan-voted awards show. Voting is open now at CMT.com. The only non-voted trophy will be the newly-minted June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award, which will be given to Trisha Yearwood during the event, live on television.
