Brantley Gilbert is a Nickelback fan, but not for the reasons you may think.

Both artists have a high-energy, guitar-driven live show, and both the country singer and his rock counterpart on tour this summer (Nickelback's Chad Kroeger) have a bad boy appeal. It was something quite different, however, that attracted Gilbert to the band, nearly 15 years ago.

He talked to ToC's Adison Haager about it.

"Man, I like me a good rock ballad," Gilbert reveals, laughing. "I just do."

Hey, we're not hating on you for this, BG. You do you!

"'Photograph,' 'Far Away' and those kind of things brought me to the table," he admits. "Yeah, I kind of did get introduced to them from the ballad side of things."

Give us a moment while we imagine Brantley Gilbert swaying along to Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" ...

"Even when people were ... kind of dogging them out for a minute," Gilbert says about his fan club membership fandom, "it was like, 'Dude, you haven't been to a show.' If you go to a show and you wanna leave and talk s--t, that's fine. But you need to go to a show first."

The Get Rollin' Tour begins on June 12 in Quebec and rolls through August. It comes after the country-rocker shared venues with Five Finger Death Punch in 2022.

During his most recent interview with Taste of Country, Gilbert also talked about the strange circumstances around his invitation to tour with Nickelback, as well as what to expect from the new songs on the deluxe version of his So Help Me God album, out April 21.
