Valleyfair Appears To Be Teasing Something Big For Their 2026 Season
Minnesota's largest amusement park, Valleyfair, is getting ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.
To mark their golden anniversary, the amusement park in Shakopee seems to have some exciting things up its sleeve.
Following their social media accounts, they subtly dropped a note at the end of 2025 that the upcoming 2026 season, which will likely open sometime in May, will be their big birthday. Since then, they've been teasing something (or multiple somethings?) for the year ahead.
Aside from sharing a few looks back at Valleyfair through the years, they've been hinting that they have some big plans. The first tease post showed a snow-covered picture from the waterpark area this winter, with a caption saying "All is quiet. Too quiet. What will be in store for 2026? Stick around and find out."
Another post from late January is a pixelated video clip saying, "We're looking to do some exterior decorating. Still trying to play around with the color palette," with the hashtag #SomethingSuperior26
The increasingly pixelated video clip appears to be some colorful ride components on the ground near one of their parking lots.

From there, they shared another update, showing a photo of one of their water slides with the caption "Update: we have decided on some colors that fit our palette. More on this later" with the hashtag #SomethingSuperior26
The most recent tease is a short video showing a pair of hawks landing on the stairway up to the top of what looks like a rollercoaster ride.

The caption for the clip is "The natives are getting restless. Nothing to see here!" again with the hashtag #SomethingSuperior26
While some people in the comments have been hoping and wishing for a new rollercoaster, a majority of fans are speculating Valleyfair is doing a refresh of at least some of, if not all of its waterpark.
One person shared a photo of what looks like a stairway/platform that they say appears to be part of a new waterslide or waterslides.
With the hashtag #SomethingSuperior26 tied to all of these tease posts, is it possible the amusement park's new owners, Six Flags, are creating something themed to Lake Superior for the waterpark that will launch this summer?
As of right now, all we have is speculation, but we'll definitely be keeping an eye on things as they continue to share teases and eventually unveil what is new for this year.
Needless to say, we're excited to find out what it is!
