Valleyfair 2024: Is This What Fans Have Been Waiting For? (Spoiler Alert: Probably Not)

Valleyfair, Minnesota's only large outdoor theme park, has announced their 2024 opening date and new additions for the upcoming season.

Valleyfair, now owned by Six Flags, is set to kick off its 47th season, and some exciting changes are coming to the culinary experience at the theme park, but unfortunately no new rides have been announced.

Are There Any New Rides for The 2024 Season?

The 48-year-old theme park hasn't added a new ride in 7 years, the last one was North Star in 2017, plus they haven't added a new roller coaster since 2007, so we are due for something new soon, hopefully with the merger between Six Flags and Cedar Fair, some movement will be made in adding a new attraction soon.

When Does Valleyfair Open in 2024?

The coasters will start rolling for the 2024 season on May 11th for season pass holders, and the park will open to the public starting on May 12th. Despite adding no new attractions, it will cost you more to get into the theme park this year, day passes have increased $5 to $39.99 and season passes start at $89.

What is New at Valleyfair for 2024?

The biggest change going into the 2024 season is the food options available at the park, Valleyfair hired a new executive chef, Josh Slaughter, to offer some new culinary experiences and a wider variety of beverages.

Valleyfair will introduce 4 new food vendors for the 2024 season:

• Lucky Loon Kitchen: Fresh, scratch-made meals including rotating roasts, fish & chicken, pasta salads, seasonal vegetables, and desserts.
• Renegade Smokehouse: Slow-smoked, perfectly seasoned meats with savory sides.
• Superior Funnel Cake Co.: Unique funnel cake creations & other sweet treats, located by the Ferris Wheel.
• Northwoods Pizzeria: Fresh pizza and warm breadsticks.

Park guests will also enjoy a wider selection of adult beverages throughout the park, including new ICEE Frozen Cocktails.

What Events is Valleyfair Hosting in 2024?

Valleyfair will also be hosting a variety of events for the 2024 season including Star-Spangled Night on July 4th, Latin Days August 3-4, Corn Fest Saturdays and Sundays between August 17-September 2, and a family friendly Halloween event called Tricks and Treats weekends between September 28-October 27.
