Factors Behind the Decline in Teen Drivers
The cost of insurance, gas, repairs, and other expenses associated with driving, along with the rise of public transportation and ride-sharing services, are all factors in this sharp decline.
Uber Offers a Solution for Teens and Parents
One of those ride-sharing businesses, Uber, is stepping in to help both teens and parents. Uber is running a promotion, offering teens who fail their driver’s test a month of free rides.
What Is Uber Teens?
If you weren’t aware, Uber has a program called Uber Teens. This program allows parents to maintain control over rides and deliveries for their teen children.
Promotion Details
The promotion includes six rides with a maximum of $20 per ride. Both teens and parents can sign up for the promotion here. It will run until March 31, 2025, or until a predetermined number of redemptions have been claimed.
According to the fine print, this promotion is for new users only and is "valid only for Teen users who have never taken a ride or ordered with Uber and/or have an existing Uber Teen account."
