Well, here's a unique opportunity for some creative person out there.

The City of Two Harbors shared a notice earlier today on social media putting out the call for ideas to name a new municipal liquor store that is set to open later this year.

The new municipal liquor store is being built to offer a larger space that will also better-support increased traffic flow and more easily accommodate locals and visitors arriving in a variety of vehicles.

One of the design components mentioned in architect DSGW's description of the project is to support the arrival of not only delivery trucks, but also campers and vehicles towing boats - making the store better and more accessible for visitors and locals alike.

Along with larger, more accommodating parking, the building will feature 10,500 square feet of space with a design that is inspired by the ore docks, the town's history, and the surrounding natural beauty.

As the new municipal liquor store in Two Harbors becomes a reality, it will need a name. The post from the City of Two Harbors explains that they are seeking the public's help in coming up with a name for the new store.

Unlike some "help us name ____" calls to action, this isn't being run like a contest. The City's post says individuals can submit as many ideas as they'd like to be considered for a final selection.

City officials say they reserve the right to reject or modify any submitted names, which is likely being done to avoid a "Boaty McBoatface" style naming snafu, or perhaps something a little less appropriate for what - remember - is a city-run business.

There won't be any prizes or compensation awarded, but you can enjoy bragging rights if your name is selected as the one to use for the liquor store.

If you have a creative idea, they're taking submissions now through 4:30 pm on Thursday, August 29. If you have an idea (or a few) to share, you can either stop in at Two Harbors City Hall, or fill out a form found on the city's website.

After this submission window is closed, the City of Two Harbors' Liquor Store Committee will take all of the submissions and narrow it down to a list of finalists to give to the City Council for consideration.
