Some would say this isn't very 'Minnesota Nice' at all.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards keeps racking up NBA-issued fines for vulgar language and obscene gestures this season, and I had to do the math to see what the running total is.

While I don't watch every single game, I'd call myself more than just a "casual fan" when it comes to Minnesota's NBA team. In checking box scores and following headlines, I keep seeing stories about the man they call "ANT" continuing to get slapped with fines.

What the heck is he saying and doing, and how much has he had to pay?

As laid out by CBS Sports, the biggest name on the Minnesota Timberwolves has been hit with 5 different fines so far this season, spanning from mid-November through mid-January.

Of the 5 fines issued by the NBA to Edwards, three of them are due to the use of profane language during interviews or toward referees. The other two were for "obscene gestures", both coming in the form of "flipping the bird.

ANT's first fine this season was for giving a fan the middle finger on November 17, and his fifth (and most recent) fine came from an incident on Saturday, January 11. Edwards got hit with a $50,000 fine for giving an official the middle finger, as seen here.

Now, it's worth mentioning that this isn't the first time an NBA star has gone on a profanity streak and gotten fined. But because I was curious, I did the math to see just how much it's all added up to so far.

I mentioned above that his most recent fine cost Edwards $50,000. Now, to the average person, that is a lot of money.

For an NBA star who has made $86 million through his career so far and is just starting off a new $244 million contract, $50,000 certainly doesn't hurt quite so bad.

The other vulgarity fines he's been hit with so far have varied in cost from $25,000 to a $100,000 fine from an incident on December 29, adding up to a grand total of $285,000 in fines.

It is worth noting that those aren't the only fines Edwards has dealt with this year. The NBA levies fines for technical fouls and other things too, and that number doesn't factor in any of the other fines he may have incurred so far this season.

While the league's goal with the fines is to try to get Edwards to lay off on the profanity, it doesn't seem to be working so far.

History of Minnesota Timberwolves' 1st Round Draft Picks - Year by Year

No team has probably suffered more in its history in Minnesota than the Timberwolves from playoff failures to poor decisions, see Joe Smith's contract, and bad trades it seems like the team is almost always in the wait-until-next-year mode. A look at the team's first-round draft picks over the years may help explain some of it.
