Minnesota Monsters Gearing Up For Regular Season Finale This Weekend
Duluth's Minnesota Monsters football team is getting ready for their regular season finale ahead of team's inaugural AF1 playoff appearance.
The Monsters won 56-42 on Saturday evening against the Washington Wolfpack, which was exactly what the team was hoping to do to lock in a home playoff game in the team's first year in the league.
Minnesota is now eying up the Beaumont Renegades as the team's final regular season opponent, with that showdown happening at 6 pm this Saturday at AMSOIL Arena.
The Monsters are making Saturday night's regular season finale a "whiteout game", with fans encouraged to wear white. Even better, the first 500 fans to arrive will get a free t-shirt!

Another reason to consider showing up early is to enjoy the team's weekly pregame tailgate party right outside AMSOIL Arena. The pregame tailgate parties include things like food and music and they're a great way for fans to get amped up before heading inside to watch the game.
So, while we know this Saturday the Monsters will play the Beaumont Renegades at 6 pm at AMSOIL, we don't yet know the matchups or other details about the postseason quite yet. We'll have to wait until this weekend's games happen to get a full look at the playoffs situation.
In the meantime, the league announced a bit of playoffs news today.
AF1's 2026 playoffs logo (left) was revealed, along with the 2026 league championship logo (right).

"The Arena Crown" is what AF1 calls its league championship game, which will be the culmination of the league's playoffs in August. A total of 6 of the league's 8 teams will make the playoffs, with the top seed hosting the championship game.
As of today, ahead of the final week of the regular season, here's how the league standings break down:
- Nashville Kats 11-1 record
- Albany Firebirds 9-3
- Minnesota Monsters 7-4 record
- Kentucky Barrels 7-5 record
- Michigan Arsenal 5-6 record
- Washington Wolfpack 5-7 record
- Beaumont Renegades 4-7 record
- Oceanside Stealth (formerly the Oceanside Bombers) 1-9 record
The Monsters have a game in hand over the Barrels, so even with a loss, they would have a tie season record. The Monsters beat the Barrels in both of their regular season matches, so Minnesota owns the tiebreaker over Kentucky, and will be able to hold onto its 3rd place spot even with a loss.

That said, the Monsters have a home game waiting for them the weekend of July 25, but we'll have to wait until after this weekend to see how the season ends to find out matchups and game times.
No matter when the game is, you'll be able to hear it on the radio on the FAN 106.5 FM & 560 AM, as well as streaming on the FAN 106.5 website and station app.
