WATCH: Super Bowl Player Gets Sendoff From His Northwestern Wisconsin Hometown

A small Northwestern Wisconsin town gave a big sendoff to a hometown kid this week as he headed off to play in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas this weekend.

Leo Chenal, who is a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, got a warm sendoff from hometown fans lining the street as he departed his hometown of Grantsburg, Wisconsin before departing for Las Vegas to prepare for the big game this weekend.

In a video shared by the Facebook page "We Are Grantsburg", you can see Leo departing town in his Chevy pickup as fans cheered, waved signs and Chiefs flags, and shouted his name while he drove by, waving and pumping his fist in excitement through his open truck window.

Leo grew up in Grantsburg, attended the University of Wisconsin, and was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs as Pick 103 overall in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Chenal is one of a number of young players who have been propelling the Chiefs through the later part of the season, helping the team get to the Super Bowl.

NFL.com reports this season's Chiefs defense is the youngest defensive unit in the NFL. Despite that perceived inexperience, they've played a big role in getting their team to the big game.

While Leo is only 23, this will be his second-straight Super Bowl appearance. He and his team not only went to but won last year's Super Bowl, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles.
