I love a good breakfast. Heck, I even eat breakfast foods for lunch or dinner from time to time!.

In my ongoing search for the best breakfast spots around the region, I was given this hot tip about a Minnesota diner that was just recently named the best place in the state for a good breakfast by the food and dining website LoveFood.

With a menu of hearty (and delicious-looking) menu of breakfast items, I can definitely see why this small Twin Cities area diner could be given such a title.

So, where is this place? What's on the menu? Let's take a look!

Some of the best breakfast spots might not stand out while you drive by. A neon sign in the window of a brick building and a few other small signs are about all there is to let you know about this humble little eatery on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue in St. Paul.

The food and the reviews speak for themselves, though!

The expert reviewer from LoveFood says this St. Paul diner has "the perfect neighborhood diner atmosphere". The decor includes kids' drawings on the walls and breakfast classics that are done to perfection, all at reasonable prices with a good value for what you get.

This diner is open for breakfast and lunch daily, open at 7 am and closing at 2 pm weekdays, staying open until 3 pm on the weekends.

The menu includes some great lunch items too, but breakfast is reportedly where it's at with this place.

Their breakfast menu includes specialty dishes like the "Tex Mex", which sounds phenomenal! It comes with house-made hash browns with diced sausage links, melted cheddar cheese, a pair of scrambled eggs, and sour cream, all wrapped in a flour tortilla and topped with house-made salsa.

Other specialty items include "The Hacksaw", a "burly breakfast" designed to feed even the hungriest of folks. There are also classics like biscuits and gravy (seen below), omelets, and other traditional breakfast dishes.

People who have eaten at The Uptowner Cafe rave about the plate-sized pancakes, crispy hashbrowns, and amazing omelets that are all served up in big portions for reasonable prices.

If you want to check out The Uptowner Cafe on Grand, you can find them at 1100 Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
