Superior Library Offers E-Device Training Events: Learn Texting, Email, Facetime + More

The world has gone digital. But what if you're a little unsure of how it all works; you need a little refresher on the latest social media apps; or you'd just like to learn a few tips and tricks?

An upcoming free event at the Superior Public Library has your chance.

The event is being called the "Sip And Swipe Cafe" and it'll be held in different sets of two different days, broken out for the two types of electronic devices: Apple products and Android products.

All you need to do is bring your electronic device - whether that's a cellphone or tablet. The Sip And Swipe Cafe will offer beverages (coffee and tea - the sip part) to enjoy while you learn the ins and outs of how it all works. Topics covered at the sessions include (but aren't limited to):

The basics: Turning the device on and off, what the buttons mean, how to swipe from screen to screen

Cameras and Photos: Learn how to take a picture with your device, simple editing and cropping, and how to send photos to someone else

Skype and Facetime: Get details on how to get started using video chat features on your device

Internet: Learn how to access the internet on your device, simple search methods, and more

Each session will last about two hours. And relax - the library promises that the event will be led by a "friendly, knowledgeable, and patient coach" - ready to "provide support and answer questions".

The sessions are scheduled to happen 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on each of those dates, in the Superior Public Library Conference Room.

Class size is limited, so you will need to register in advance. You can do that by calling 715-394-8860 or by stopping in at the Superior Public Library and inquiring at the Circulation Desk.
