Here's something parents of infants and young children will want to know: Reckitt has issued a voluntary recall for select batches of its Enfamil ProSobee baby formula. The recall affects two batches that were distributed nationwide including stores in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

According to details shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the concern is the "possibility of cross-contamination with Cronobacter sakazakii"; that bacteria can have "severe, life threatening infections (sepsis) or meningitis (an inflammation of the membranes that protect the brain and spine)".

At this point, there have been no known reported illnesses or adverse events occurring in association with the recalled Enfamil ProSobee baby formula. The recall has been issued under a means of caution. It's worth noting that the FDA has shared that all of the products involved with the recall have been put through "extensive testing and tested negative for the bacteria".

The specific baby formula was sold under the product name "Enfamil ProSobee Simply Plant-Based Infant Formula" in 12.9 ounce containers. It was manufactured between August 2022 and September 2022. And, once again, it was distributed nationwide.

Consumers looking to identify the recalled product should look for the batch number that's located on the bottom of the can. Recalled product batches are "ZL2HZF" and "ZL2HZZ".  Both batches bear the UPC Code "300871214415" and have a USe By Date of "1 MAR 2024".
