In The Spirit Of Community Celebrate A Region-Wide Free Thanksgiving Meal At The DECC

It's a favorite local tradition for many Northlanders, the 27th annual Twin Ports Community Thanksgiving Day Buffet.  Everyone is invited to enjoy a free turkey dinner with all the usual Thanksgiving trimmings on Thanksgiving Day, November 24.  The meal features locally grown and locally provided foods as much as possible. It will be held at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) from 11a - 4p with dinner served until 3:30.

NEW THIS YEAR, community members from Carlton, Cloquet and the North Shore are invited to gather at the DECC for a GRAND ALL INCLUSIVE Thanksgiving Day celebration.  This year an estimated 6,000 meals will be served this year at the DECC.  I have served on the Thanksgiving Day Buffet committee for 19 years.  It's such an incredible feeling of camaraderie with people working together with the community and almost 1,000 dedicated volunteers.

Monica Hendrickson, event coordinator says, "No one should be alone or unable to provide a meal to their loved ones on this special day of Thanksgiving. It’s all about giving back and we hope we can continue this tradition for years to come.”

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:  If you are homebound and unable to join us at the DECC, Home Meal Delivery is available on Thanksgiving Day IF you schedule your request for a meal by noon on Friday, November 18.  To do so, please call 218.723.6484.
